Painful episiotomy scar

I have had 2 episiotomies, most recent one being nearly 2 years ago. I've been fine until this week when suddenly I've become sensitive and sore in the scarred area. If I move suddenly and in the wrong way I get a painful scratch sensation. The only thing I've changed recently is I've started exercising more and have bought one of those pelvic exerciser things to help my pelvic floor come back ??

and that is why it's painful. the scars are being stretched out and under strain as you "clench".

I'm pretty sure it just shows that the excercises work, but you might want to reduce the amount you do.

obviously stop if it gets really bad, but maybe if you don't stop it will get better.

I wonder if there's some cream that you could apply to soothe your sore area (or just a cold flannel or ice gel pack will do) and perhaps something else to help reduce the scarring and/or make it less "rigid"?

I've heard the Bio-oil is fantastic for reducing scarring, but I don't know if it is safe on your intim area.
(I think I would try it externally, it is just oil after all...)

what do you think?

Yes I think you're right. I thought about bio oil but I think I'll give it a go. I've heard that you should massage the scarred area daily otherwise it will cause a build up of scar tissue.
