Ear pain / blocked ear?

Ever since I went on holiday in the summer and was swimming daily my ear feels blocked . I went to the doctors and he said I had an inflamed outer tube and gave me some spray which stopped the pain, but 3 weeks later I still feel like I have got water in my ear iykwim ....it just feels blocked any suggestions ?

No, didn't fly went to Wales so could the mountain altitude have affected them?

yes, air pressure changes can push stuff behind eardrums, that's why you had pain and inflammation!

water would have evaporated /got absorbed by now, it's probably some gunk lurking there still.

I had the same, when flying after/during a cold - the snot (sorry!) got pushed into my ear from my sinuses and I was in agony for days (bank fucking holiday weekend)
some ear drops sorted it, but it took me weeks to feel ok again!

I'm not sure what to do to get rid of it, I don't like advising antibiotics, but I can't think of anything else.
