Hormone imbalance

I just turned 40 and feel my hormones are just out of control.
I suffer with lots of headaches, mainly before and during my period.
I've started to break out in spots where i never had a problem and i also recently had a lump in my breast diagnosed as being down to my hormones.
I mentioned hormones to my doctor as the potential cause of my headaches and he just gave me a look and then prescribed some low does anti-depressants which are supposed to help(i don't want any more to be fair, i'm already on beta blockers)
I feel if i could get my hormones under control it may help my whole being.
Has anyone ever seen a private doctor or anything and been given anything for an imbalance?
Any help appreciated x
