Cold cold cold feet!

Just that really. I suffer really badly with freezing cold feet. My hands are fine. I have to sleep often with 2 pairs of socks on.

I went to the doctor in the spring. He felt my feet, and said that my circulation seemed fine, and that having cold feet may just be part of my makeup.

But... I don't understand it. It isn't that cold at the moment. I always wear socks, and last night they were so cold in bed that they hurt (and I had a pair of socks on!).

Any suggestions?!

My first response is to ask whether you've ever had your thyroid levels checked? I'm hypothyroid (underactive thyroid) and I don't know if it's a standard symptom but I always know when I've forgotten to take my thyroxine because of the hideously cold feet, that take 2 hours to warm up even stuck behind DH's knees. Taking my thyroxine at sensible intervals seems to stop that.

It can just be the way you are - the trick is to never let your feet get cold, so wear thermal slipper boots round the house, then thermal socks and boots with thermal insoles.

I'm the same, but these days they never hurt by doing this

Interesting duchesse that you mention under active thyroid- I haven't had it tested, but my nan suffered with it. I am also pretty lethargic, so will get the doc to check next time.

CMOTdibbler- you are probably right, it most likely is just the way I am though! My DH despairs come bed time as my feet end up near him!

as duchesse says, thyroid test, and ask for the actual results too in case you are borderline
