Don't panic
Abnormal tests are very common
If the sample wasnt 'clean flow' that could add something
A slight urine infection perhaps

I'm no expert, one will be along shortly no doubt, but don't worry, it is most likely nothing and a ratest will show that

If it really was bad they would have hauled him into hospital by now!

Don't you just love it when they leave you hanging! It could be a small amount of something that makes them want to just double check the result. Really, anything serious and you'd have been contacted immediately.

Obviously I researched it and convinced myself if all terrible outcomes! They've not requested a blood test simply another urine sample! I'm panicking google search is the devils work! X

Please don't panic. It might have just shown a bit of protein, which in itself is only a general indicator. Most likely to mean it was either a contaminated sample, or he has a bit of a mild urine infection. I imagine they will repeat the test and possibly also send a sample to check for infection.

Would he have signs of uti? Thanks! :/

Are you worried that there may be something urgent being missed? That is really, really unlikely. It is much more likely that the sample got contaminated or something.

If he had a UTI he would probably have pain on urination (I think?) and possibly aching kidneys (backache, lower mid back) and a temperature, maybe, and would feel wiped out.

Correct me if I'm wrong, wise people.

flowerandrandd · 07/09/2013 11:47

No he has no symptoms of anything! I just worry that's all about everything plus he mows told me he held his wee for about 6 hours and didn't mid stream test so basically all sorts was probably collected so not worrying so much now! X

You can have a uti without symptoms. Asymptomatic bacteriaurea.
