Weird wasp sting

I was stung by a wasp earlier this week on the sole of my foot - obviously painful at the time but soon went off. I saw the wasp fly out of my foot gross and couldn't see anything left in my foot. Thought no more of it.

I have been stung before, never had allergies etc.

This morning the sting really itches, like a bite would. What do you think - coincidence or weird?

I think they often itch just like a bite would.

I don't remember the itchy part from before, just the pain :)

OK, if it's red and hot to the touch (or becomes so) and the itching feels more like burning, take yourself straight to the GP. Some insect bites and stings can trigger cellulitis, which is unpleasant and can be dangerous if not treated.

It's disappointingly invisible. A lot of fuss over nothing really!

But I will look out for that SolidGoldBrass, thank you.

Definitely go to a GP if it is really hurting. I had an infected bee sting a couple of summers ago - swollen ankle, red spreading out from the sting and a course of antibiotics. Once the swelling etc had abated it itched like mad, just like a gnat bite.

I had a wasp sting on my neck last week. It itched for a week afterwards, it's only just gone down now. I think itchy is normal.

Sophiedotty · 08/09/2013 14:53

The itching a few days after is normal. Just take an anti histamine & put an insect bite cream or anti histamine cream on it.

Normal. I got stung on the butt in Greece last year Blush and it hurt like hell, then was ok, then itched like crazy a few days later. You can imagine what a sight I was back in London, bronzed and itching....!

On the bottom? Ouch!

The itch is so intense if I think about it! No redness or swelling though. Just a hard lump and the itch. Did I mention the itch?!
