Hard lump behind belly button

Icelollycraving · 01/09/2013 20:29

For the last few months I've suffered on & off with a painful lump behind my belly button. It feels like a rock hard mass about the size of a small fist. It then disappears completely. When it's there I feel crampy & sometimes makes me feel nauseous & wiped out.
It sounds silly but until it flares up,I forget all about it. I thought it may be stress related as I've had some things happening over the last four months. I have pcos but don't suffer too badly these days, was worse before having ds.
I will make an appointment with the gp but wondered if anyone had experience of this.

Think this might be a hernia.

I'm not so sure. I have a small hernia, (from pregnancy) and it is a visible bump and isn't rock hard at all.

In fact if it were I'm told that is an emergency as it means it's strangulated.

I would see the GP if I were you...also it is not painful, I'm not sure what could be causing you this issue but it is worth checking out x
