I have had post-nasal drip (thick mucus draining down the back of my nose) for years. I went to the doctor and they gave me 2 nasal steroid sprays one after the other, the first was Beconase, the second was Nasonex. Neither have made any difference. Another poster recommended taking an antihistamine every day. I tried that for 2 weeks - no difference.

I'm going back to the GP about it because it makes my mouth smell and taste horrible (sorry!) and I'm sick of it. Any advice on what to ask for or what to try next?

If you persist with the doctors, they have stronger steroid that they can prescribe called flixonase i think. These are drops not sprays and are much stronger. I had them after the sprays didn't work for me, they helped much more with the PN drip.

Alternatively you could push for a referral to ENT.

No advice, but you have my sympathy. Do you get that feeling of something stuck in your throat? I used to get that and then, an almighty sneeze a few days later would dislodge some foul smelling stuff that I can only describe as throat cheese Envy

Thanks both. It is seriously grim Sad Going to the doc today and will demand Flixonase, if that doesn't work I guess it's off to ENT.
