Dh is spectacularly reliant on his blood sugar levels to control his mood. If he doesn't eat when hungry he spirals from irritability and grumpiness into unreasonableness and stubbornness and onwards down into anger, irrationality, confusion and snarling belligerence. It's remedied by making him eat say, half a mars bar. Not toast or crackers or fruit/veg, must be sugar. This bit is hard because if he has got to the point of irrationality it is hard to convince him! He is back to himself before he has finished his fourth mouthful.
I convinced him to try and cut out sugar just for one day. He doesn't eat loads anyway but we both just wanted to see what it was like. Cue awful headache, grumpiness etc, (not to extent above as made sure he had slow release food like oats too) and major tiredness. Hes a night owl normally but was asleep on the sofa at 10- shock!
He's in bed now but I am worried about him! What if he's actually diabetic and I'm sending him to sleep whilst heading for a coma! Ok might be over thinking this but am worried about him being so dependent on sugar. Any advice?
