Why is my cycle getting longer?

Was always 26 days but has now changed to around 35 for the last few months.

I have other health issues (POTS and CFS/ME) but they aren't really anything related to gynae health.

Any ideas?

I'm 26 BTW and have had 2 healthy pregnancies if that makes any difference (they were before I got ill)

The other thing is I think I get more ovulation pain now. Used to be literally one brief pang a month mid cycle - now at random times... Shouldi be worried? I did ask a doctor in passing a few months ago but he just dismissed it.

Marking my place with interest as I am exactly the same. Used to be every 28 days no more every 33 days ish, periods heavier and way more painful. Figuring its my age. (although Im only 33)

Marking my place too.

Am also suffering with much worse ovulation pains after two pregnancies. Last week it was so bad I was woken up by it and had to take painkillers.

But my cycles have got shorter. After a lifetime of bang-on 28-day cycles the past 4 months have been more like 24 days. Just awful. And I have very heavy periods. Now more frequently! Yippee! Grin

Somehow I am supposed to be having a Mirena coil fitted. But I need to make the appointment based on my cycle. How the actual fuck am I supposed to do that when it keeps changing?!?!

Haven't read your posts properly but are you using the pill or coils or any hormonal contraception at all? I am currently pill-free, in anticipation of a coil fitting.

Am 38yo BTW, so mine could be peri-menopausal stuff I suppose.

I have never had any hormonal contraception, just used condoms except when SWIing.

Flow is less heavy I think. I only have one heavy day.

In my teens my mum took me to the doctor about having heavy periods and she said I had dysmenorrhea (specifically saying I was ovulating at odd times) and prescribed mefenamic acid which I took for a few years, but now looking back on it that doctor barely asked any questions and basically shoved me out the door after a few minutes, so I really don't know how she reached that conclusion?

Could you have polycystic ovaries? Sounds similar to my DD`s symptoms.

Eeeek, really? Will have a look thanks Thanks
