Morning all
I had my gallbladder removed 7th August. What should have been a simple surgery for various reasons wasn't, although the surgeon managed to keep it key hole still.
Saturday following the surgery the top wound clearly showed signs on infection and anti bs were perscribed at local hospital. Wednesday the top wound starts leaking pus, blood etc and I end up being readmitted to hospital. Initially they reopened the wound and cleaned what they could with the plan to operate and deep clean and restitch. All ready for theatre on Saturday morning and a new surgeon decides against the surgery and instead wants to pack the two inch deep wound and keep it packed till it starts to heal from below.
Although I'm relieved to not go under the knife again I'm feeling a bit in the dark in terms of potential recovery time with the packing.
Has anybody had similar experience and willing to share? My slightly toxic mother is angry with me because I'm not better yet
The lower wounds are very tender still and requiring pain relief, the top wound is a different kind of pain. But I'm just getting on with it.
Thank you for reading, and apologies for long post and typos
