3 years ago, at 9 months pg I had the occasional mild reflux. Took gaviscon and thought no more of it.
2 years ago, I started having intermittent twinges in my upper right abdomen. Gall bladder? I sometimes get a stitch when walking too, but put that down to being overweight.
Then about 6 months ago I started getting occasional intermittent reflux and the feeling of a lump/irritation somewhere in my throat. Doesn't hurt, just irritating. My throat sometimes feels cold too, but I dont get burning pains in my chest or oesophagus. Its all very intermittent though, can go a week or more without anything at all. Oh and an intermittent metallic taste in the mouth too. None of this happens after eating, its just random.
Took omeprazole for 2 months, cured the reflux but not really the feeling in my throat.
Any ideas? Have seen two GPS who both said doesn't sound serious (like cancer), as no evidence of key symptoms such as weight loss, jaundice, sickness, fatigue.
I already have an underactive thyroid which is well controlled. Upper abdomen has been a bit swollen since baby was born 3 years ago but GP says no swelling (probably my separated stomach muscles, they're bad).
Any thoughts? Should I ask to be referred and if so, what dept would I need? Or am I just a hypochondriac overthinking it. Have had full blood and iron counts, normal.
