Last year we went on holiday, again this year. Each time we were away I had no problems at all, but all the time we were at home I was getting heartburn with a niggling back and feeling a bit under the weather. I thought it was coincidence the first time but it's happened 3 times since then - I was fine when we went away for a long weekend as well.
I've got no idea why it would be and it seems a bit foolish to go and ask the GP.

Any ideas?

Stress?

sparklingstars · 18/08/2013 07:27

I did wonder about stress as it goes away when we're not at home but I wasn't sure. It's not gallstones. I didn't think that stress could cause it, especially as I've not felt particularly stressed apart from the prospect of being back at work after a holiday.

IBS triggered by certain foods/ stress? Is there a food you tend to eat at home you maybe eat less of when away?

Hmm, now you mention it, bread is something I do eat more of at home because it's so cheap. I only had it a couple of times on holiday. I was eating pasta though so it's not likely to be the gluten. Interesting idea, I will cut down on bread at home and see if it makes a difference - thank you, it could well be something like that.
