Hi, can anyone with ear infection experience help?

Last Friday I considered going to the doctor with a severely itchy ear but as I get itchy ears a bit anyway decided to wait.

On Weds it got painful so I went to the doctor and was prescribed Locorten drops. When I got home, the instructions the pharmacist wrote were to use 2-3 times daily. I have duly put in one drop twice/three times daily since then.

I have woken up tonight with ear pain. Having googled Locorten, it looks like standard dose is in fact 2-3 drops 2-3 times daily, so I have been underdosing.

It is the weekend tomorrow - so do I go to the doctor today and try to get some oral antibiotics in case it gets worse over the weekend, or do I up the dose of Locorten and hope it goes away?

I am 40+5 pregnant so do without an ear infection right now, but I have been hospitalised with an ear infection in the past so poss paranoid...

The anti b ear drops can take four days to work. They're not an instant solution.

I was prescribed them 2 drops 3x daily.

May be hard to take painkillers as you're pregnant but I was on Nurofen plus cocodamol. Only thing which would take the edge off the pain.
