Gum abcess

Hi everyone,
Just question ahead..... I've had a lump on my gum for the last 8 months, painless unless the dentist prods it! After X-rays etc the dentist decided it was bone. 8 months later I saw another dentist who was looking at my gums ( i had another abcess, suffered with gum disease for a while due to smoking when i was younger) but decided it was probably an underlying abcess. Had a course of amoxicillin which I think has reduced it.

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and I'm worried aout it affecting the baby? Has anyone esle had this? For this long?

Hi. I had a gum abscess during my last pregnancy. It didn't bother me and symptoms settled after a couple of weeks. My dentist advised me to wait until I had given birth to have it treated as it wasn't causing me any problems. I had no problems with the pregnancy and had a root filling afterwards.

Thanks for that. Mine isn't bothering me either its just underlying but if you read on line it says scary stuff if, its left untreated ?

When i had an abcess on my gum i had 3 courses of amoxicillin and it didnt heal, the dentist said the infection had gone into the bone. i decided to take action with rinses of hot water with a few drops of tea tree oil and a few drops of clove oil ? meanwhile the dentist gave me the antibiotic that heals bone infections but im convinced it was the rinsing of my mouth was the cure as the pain was horrendous i rinsed four times a day.
