Return of a hernia????

Sorry bit of a long one here.....
Was admitted to hospital last June with suspected appendicitis ended up spending 5 days in hospital showing all signs of appendicitis but not showing up in my bloods so doctors were unsure. Ended up having a camera put in through key whole and they decided to take out my appendix as was slightly inflamed.
All was good for a few months until I November when I started getting pain again, then out popped a hernia under my scar just under my belly button, awfully painful and bloody annoying!! Ended up having surgery in march to sort hernia out. Was ment to be key hole but as hernia was bigger than expected they had to do actual surgery so ended up in hospital for a few days and a longer recovery period.
Thought all was well after recovery and was finally rid of this bloody pain but unfortunately it's back!! Pain all in my stomach around/under my scar, doctor unsure what it is but going to keep an eye on it, tbh I think it's just like the pain I had before the last hernia produced. Is it likely to be another hernia? Anyone had experience of this? Am I more likely to get another hernia as I've had one before.
Anyone's advice would be great! I'm just dreading the thought if having to go back to hospital and have another bloody operation!!

Oh dear, poor you. It is possible for a hernia to come back, but it could just be that you have strained yourself and disturbed the scar tissue a bit. Can you rest up for a few days and try to let everything settle down again?

I'm hoping that is the case! Was carrying a 6month old in a carrier all day Monday so wonder if that's made the pain worse! Have tomorrow off work so shall spend it resting with my hot water bottle, but unfortunately back to work weds and I have an 18month to run around after most the day (I'm a nanny) so not much resting there unfortunately!

Nanny - I had a hernia operation very similar to yours a couple of years ago (Mine was just above an abdominal scar too).
I find I get periods of it feeling quite tender even now, - especially if I overdo things, - I keep getting it checked but they say it is OK. So I can only assume the muscles are still weak or there is some scar tissue going on inside. (Mine was keyhole unlike yours, so you have obviously got a bigger wound to heal up - which can take a good while). Sometimes if I'm doing something like hoovering I can get quite a sharp sudden pain where the hernia was.

I also find that my bowel can get a bit sluggish since my op. and my GP said constipation will make the whole area tender - she supplied me with a big bottle of lactulose to take if I'm feeling a bit bunged up (apologies for TMI, but thought it might be helpful)
