Never feel thirsty but...

Am I the only person who almost never feels thirsty? I've only just realised I have a raging thirst. I feel pretty grim to be honest, really slow and slightly achey. This happens at least once a week and I know the only thing to do is bindingly obvious (drink more...) but despite best intentions I somehow can't.
Sometimes I have a glass of water in my hand (I like water fine), and I look at it and think, ah no, I'll have a sip later on. Silly, isn't it? I don't understand! What is wrong with me?

no, i am the same. always have been.
as a child I was hospitalised a couple of times with dehydration because I just didn't drink!

It's daft, isn't it? I go from normal to 'oh for goodness sake, how could I not spot that I am actually dehydrated?!'
I'm worried it could lead to other sorts of problems, eg at the moment I feel quite sick and weak - I know I'll be ok in an hour (from past experience) but that's not good, and what else is going wrong inside me because of it?
What do you do? I am thinking I have to set an alarm to tell me to DRINK!

Maybe you are mistaking hunger for thirst. Sometimes I think I feel hungry just after eating but it's usually because I'm thirsty and if I have a glass of water I don't feel hungry anymore.

I think I just need someone to poke me and give me half a glass of water every half an hour or so.

I have an app which tells me to drink, and then I tell it what I've had and it automatically calculates when my next drink will need to be and lights up when I should have it. Crazy I know, but I, too, don't drink if left to my own devices. Can easily just have two drinks in a day! I have found the more I drink the more my thirst mechanism is coming back Smile

I never feel thirsty, then when I drink water, I immediately feel like I've had enough. I drink one cup of coffee and maybe one cup of tea a day.

I'm sure I'm in a constant state of dehydration. I bloody hate drinking water though.

in the past I have done small bottles of water in the fridge, and I have to drink a certain amount a day.

i hate drinking water too unicorn. it's just so blah isn't it

UnicornsPooGlitter · 13/08/2013 21:38

I don't believe that you have to drink 2 (am I remembering that correctly?) litres of water a day. If I drink a lot for me (but nowhere near that amount), I need to wee constantly.
