staying positive

Just wondered if any of you had tips for staying positive whilst waiting for appointments....my dh has had weeks of appointments tests and scans for problems in the urinary area which have basically come to nothing...which I KNOW is good news (anyone in the hand holding thread will know I was convinced it was prostate cancer but hey ho!) but basically we were told it was most likely down to an infection but they will see him again in 4 months and hope everything has calmed down by then - which the positive members of my family (my dh and my mother) see as an all clear with a check up in 4 months whereas to me it was like - we don't know what's wrong with you, go away and we hope it all goes away before you come and bother us again!!

I know we just get on with life like nothing has happened but it is in the back of my mind all the time - does that improve with time?

TIA xx

It does improve yes. I'm an anxious type like you and tend to fixate on things and google...trying to work out and somehow try to control the reasons for illness. It's a pointless excersise but saying that won't help you stop worrying really...one way to shift the energy focus is to look at positive changes you can make....we had a recent health thing and we have all gone vegitarian...and make a big effort at eating an extremely healthy diet and getting excersise.

it's something to distract you which also contributes to health.x

Thanks Neo - I'm a veggie but I think I'd have a hard time convincing the rest of my lot to convert! Thanks for the suggestion though.I have given up the googling since he had negative results but it is still in the back of my mind all the time!I'm just hoping as the months go on it will be less so xx
