Bloody knee pain

It hurts.

I have had this on and off for years - but seem to be right in the middle of a massive flare up and it is getting me down. My right knee is hugely swollen and sore. I'm taking Naproxen, which doesn't feel like it is helping. Sitting still makes it worse, and I have a three hour car journey tomorrow.

Have had x rays etc - it is down to wear and tear, apparently. I have lost a stone and a half and was hoping it would start to ease, but since June it has been four days of agony, a week off, then I do something like try to cut my toenails or kneel for a few seconds and it is back.

I might just cut my fucking leg off.

It doesn't help right now, but get back to the knee surgeons and talk about surgical options. They can do stuff about wear and tear, and an intervention now could give you years of pain free living

I had a cartilage tear, but it happened suddenly and hurt only when I stepped on that leg. Except when it swelled up the next morning.
I had an MRI as x-ray does not show the soft tissues only the bones. I had keyhole surgery to cut the torn bit off 6 years later and was informed they found arthritis in the bones of the knee and would need a replacement in the near future.
That was 9 years ago and still got my old knee which is behaving very well - thank goodness.
