Anyone got IBS?

I was diagnosed about 7 years ago and apart from some severe episodes in the first couple of years, it has been largely controllable. I am no longer taking any medication for it at all.

I had a baby 8 months ago and since then I have had almost constant diarrhoea (sorry, tmi). This bout has lasted 3 weeks. inbetween bouts i am pretty constipated for about 4 days and then it all starts again.

Did this happen to anyone else after childbirth? I had a c-section. Could they have moved something around? Is that a ridiculous thing to say? Should I go back to the doctor?

TIA

I have mild IBS but I also had this after both births. Several other new mums have reported similar. I think it's just your body settling down after carrying a giant baby in there. All your digestive bits and bobs have to move back to where they used to be and the hormone which slows everything down and causes constipation during pgcy is no longer present. That's all bound to have an effect on your bowel. I just rode it out and tried to eat the same sort of balanced diet each day to help even things out. It did settle after maybe 12 weeks so just stick with it.

Thank you Wallace. It's been 8 months and starting to get me down a bit if I'm honest. Hopefully it will clear up on its own.
