Itchy scar across chest. Any ideas?

I had the surgery nearly 18 months ago, but the itching has never yet been this bad. This evening I just feel as though I could tear myself in half. Does anyone know anything I could do to help?

Kelocote gel is really good - it calmed my itchy nasty scar right down, and softened it lots.

Or you could ask your GP about Haelen tape - its steroid impregnated, and you wear it for 20 hours at a time on the scar

Great ideas.. thanks. I've just been given a prescription for amitryptyline (which has been on the horizon for a while due to other pain) but am really unsure as I'm nervous about the tiredness it could cause...
