I have fibromyalgia and spinal stenosis, I have very little energy and use a wheelchair if I go anywhere that involves walking a long way. I also have a stick that I use most of the time. My daughter is nearly 10 and knows I have problems but I have never told her I have something wrong with me. She totally lacks empathy and often moans that I'm lazy and never do anything. I find myself really moaning all the time at her and I hate it.
Is it time to sit her down and tell her I have fibromyalgia?
Yesterday I used my wheelchair at home because my legs hurt so much I couldn't stand up. She looked at me and called me a weirdo! Her dad/my dh came home from work last night and made her help me but it's like she thinks I'm making it up Sad

Sorry to hear about your conditions, I have hyper mobility and have good days and bad days with joints and muscles.
Maybe get a selection of photographs of people with different disabilities and explain them, maybe refer to one of them as yourself so she can relate the illness with similar or others and actually relate it to something rather than laziness.
Hope this helps a little x

Think you need to have a chat with her. I've got a life limiting illness too, and my 10 year old is aware, mainly because there may be times I need her to get help/call for ambo etc.
Maybe if your daughter knows what's wrong she maybe a bit more understanding, she may just feel scared because she doesn't know what's wrong.
Talk to her, let her see you have good days when you can do things and bad days when everything is difficult.
