What do you do with babies in the sun?

I don't mean to sound daft and obviously I know to apply high factor sun lotion, but what do you do with your baby in the sun? Do you sit them under a parasol? I want to be able to lie her down so she can play with her baby gym outside, but I don't want her to burn or get the sun in her eyes. Any ideas?

Keep her in the shade- use a parasol or drape a sheet or something. And put a sun hat on her.

dont let them out in the heat. Even with high factor sun lotion. In fact, although I have the stuff I hardly use it as I keep her in. I only do necessary trips ie picking up ds from school.

We go out for long walks with the dog in the evening.

Sheet on the washing line.Put her in the shade from it.Obviously you will need to move her as the sun moves.

Trees are good if you have them. Aren't sunshades on buggies a nightmare?

h Large ggarden parasol - or cheap gazebo thing from tescos or diy shop.

We bought one of those half tent sun protection baby things for the beach last year and dd2 ( 8 weeksish) was really happy under it. I would only do early am or late afternoon - basically keeping mine in the shade from the house/garage eetc.

tent type thing - you can makeone by draping fabric over a small A-frame ladder and weighting it down at the back. The small shadow cast by a parasol moves round quickly; much better to have broader coverage.

High factor sunscreen (don't forget ears!), covered up in loose, cool clothing, hat at all times and in the shade as much as possible - we sit under the trees in the garden or a parasol at the beach or in buggy.

We used either one of those tent things or put baby in shade. Although our garden is south facing there is always some shade due to trees, fences etc. Also put cream and hat on just to be safe.
