What's wrong with my husband?

DH has been having repeated bouts of diarrhoea for nearly 24 hours, no vomiting, but he is extremely gassy - he can't even change positions in bed without burping the most disgusting of burps and also from his rear end but that's too much info

We've all eaten the same meal and everyone is fine. He is aching everywhere and he is as weak as a kitten. He also feels that he has a huge acid build up and he's v uncomfortable. I've made sure he's hydrated and I've bought him proper coke, shaken it flat and made him sip it (I read in a baby magazine years ago that it's great for settling stomachs).

We're meant to be driving to France tomorrow night, packing up the car tomorrow and somehow, I think I'll be doing it solo.

What could be wrong with him?

He's got a viral infection....maybe not Norovirus but there is still plenty of other ones to choose from. The aches and weakness also indicate viral infection. It should pass quickly enough but him being well by tomorrow is optimistic

Thanks bakingaddict - thankfully I have my Dad on hand to help me load up and get the kids sorted. I'm happy drive to Portsmouth to catch the overnighter, providing DH can stomach the journey with lots of stops.

An ex had similar whuch was gardia, the burps and farts were soooo foul. He got it from drinking contaminated mountain spring water (goats higher up had obv pooed in it). Anyway it passed very quickly but was indeed grim!
