anyone had an umbilical hernia repaired?

I am on the list to have my umbilical hernia repaired and want to find out how the recovery is afterwards. I don't have anyone to help after the op so am worried about how I will manage.
Part of me thinks I shouldn't have it done coz it's not much of a problem but don't know if it's ok to leave it.
Any advice very welcome.

My Dsis had it done & wasn't allowed to lift anything for at least a month which was hard with a toddler but luckily she had our Dm to help .

Do you know how she felt after the op and how long it took to feel back to normal?
