My little man has a huge bloated belly, and has from being under one. his is down to food intolerances and milk allergy, altho he still has it now (he is 4 in july) and it bloats up during the day by up to 4inchesShock

the paeds have finally referred me to a gastroentorologist (sp?) in southampton (dr beaty) and we go in july.

they are wondering if he is coeliac and have treated him as such from 18mths, altho it hasn't made ahuge difference to the bloating to be honest.

If you have a good HV then she is the first port of call, then docs, and then go from what they say.

it may be normal for him, or they may say that there is a problem.

If he had a bug last week then that could be the cause actually. Some tummy bugs can offset a short term intolerance (normally to milk in my experience, but could be other foods too).

still go to the docs tho for reassurance.

oooh, one thing you could try is giving him a actimil a day (or something similar). probiotics are good for reseting the balances, and my paediatrition recommends them for mine after any bug.
