My hayfever is so bad today, I can virtually not see through all the tears!

so I have gone to boots (have just realised my boots rewards points are now enormous!) and got some of their hayfever relief eye drops but they're not really doing the trick.... is there something else that works better?

and if someone else asks if everything is alright (I must look like I'm crying!) I think I'll scream!

I feel awful.. I thought I might actually be ill but don't think so. It's less my eyes and nose.. more my throat.. I feel as if I constantly have 'stuff' running down the back of it and it's sore as buggery.. but not surprised... look \link{http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/pollen/index.shtml\here}...

A reg antihistamine tablet works better than treating indiv symptoms for me Fox.. but I have none...!

poor you - yes I thought I had woken up with something this morning!

It's entirely my fault because I forgot to close the windows last night and this makes a massive difference to my hayfever (if I close them, quite often I wake up feeling fine!). I've had a shower so I've done everything I should. But looking at that pollen forecast, I guess there's not much that can be done

SJ is right, you build up a 'store' of antihistamine when you take a daily clarityn (or whatever daily brand you use).

Hiya - My mum used to get drops called Murine and they were absolutely fantastic for our hayfever. Not sure if they are still around but if they are they are definately worth it!

I don't get runny eyes, but I do get a funny taste in my mouth (like I've been sucking yellow dandelions) and horrible cold-like symptoms. I have to take a daily pill in the morning and one before bed to stop me waking up with a woolly mouth and headache

I'm taking beconase daily (which does help a bit with the nasal symptoms) and I have antihistamines but I started getting a migraine last night so had to take that pill instead. Those drops sound familiar, I'll have a look for them. What antihistamines do you take NDP?

Clarityn. DH really suffers with h/f and he swears by them.

yes I think they are good. I might phone the pharmacist and see if I can take them with my migraine stuff.

I'm using Flixonase instead of beconase this year and have seen a remarkable improvement. Eyes still streaming unless I take a tablet though!

oh that's interesting. I have some flixonase somewhere but I think the beconase has been doing its job ok but like you say, it only really sorts one area out!!

I'm not going to take a antih till the migraine tablet is out of my system so I'll just have to suffer till tonight. I'd rather have hayfever than a migraine anyway (even if I do look puffy eyed and ridiculous) so I guess it's the lesser of two evils!

i take 'new era' homeopathic stuff (started to when pregnant) and it is great. you can take as many tablets as you need, but the trick is to take them through the day to preempt symptons. Available in boots or any 'alternatives' section in chemist
