Transverse Myelitis

has anyone on here ever had this?

I just happened to be reading about Natasha Baker (para rider) and this is what she had as a toddler. I googled to read more about it and the symptoms sound exactly what I had 3 years ago when I was hospitalised. On further investigation it appears that sometimes all tests come back negative but you can still have it.
Apparently the lesions on your spinal cord don't show up on an MRI at the time but can be seen afterwards as they leave a scar.

I am in the process of a complaint against the neurologist that saw me at the time, as he just declared I was depressed even though I was paralysed and couldn't walk!

I am moving and will change doctors so will ask them if I can have further investigations as I am still not right and can't walk very far.

I'm sorry to hear that, gallifrey. Transverse myelitis can be very disabling, but there are a number of conditions that can mimic TM, so further investigations are a good idea. Hope this gets sorted for you.

thank you I'm determined to get to the bottom of this.
I'm fed up with being fobbed off.
