Yesterday I had a mammogram, ultra sound and core needle biopsy for a breast lump which I have had a long time (but has grown). I was told that based on the mammogram and ultra sound they didn't think there was anything nasty- probably fibrosystic ? changes. However when they did the core biopsy I heard the consultant and radiographer saying what came out looked unusual. They also looked at a lymph node which was highlighted on the screen. They then said it probably wasn't anything bad, they were always honest and would have told me there and then if it was nasty.I have to go back for the results on Tuesday.
My husband is away for a week. My sister is going to look after my children. I don't have anyone to go to the appointment with me. I am now worrying like mad that they will they turn round and give me bad news.
What is likely to happen at the meeting on Tuesday. Do they just discuss the results or do you have to have more tests or make decisions on the spot?
Thank you.
