IBS after having children...? (Sorry, TMI)

So yeah, I have a feeling I've got IBS (Going to the docs monday morning as I've reached my limit). I didn't have the easiest pregnancy with hyperemesis at the beginning and horrible heart burn during the later stages, so for 9months I was on a very bland diet, barely eating anything. Never really had major gastric problems prior to this, but a delicate tummy to too much alcohol or too many veggies at once or too much junk food (for days in a row) which I would assume is normal, although my tolerance perhaps less than some.

So out pop my beautiful babies and I'm able to eat what I like again... Or so I thought, my babies are now 7 months old and perhaps three maybe four months ago my stomach started misbehaving once a week or so (Usually the day after a take away curry or mcd's), I would get horrible cramps, gas and the sudden urgent need to go to the toilet, I have perhaps a few minutes to get to a toilet when I feel the need, and I can't begin to tell you how awkward that is with twins and a twin buggy. But its got to the stage now where I have an almost constant pain in my abdomen, bloating and really anxious that whenever i'm out i'm going to need the loo and generally I do. I've started taking an over the counter med called colofac, started taking actimel, cut out bread and spicy and fatty foods completely. I'm even giving reflexology and hypnosis a go just to try and de-stress. (I would like to add that at the same time having twins we've lost a very close relative, bought a house, going on holiday at the same time as having the house renovated, moving shortly after we return from holiday and then going to a caravan holiday as a surprise for my eldest DD at the end of aug on my own, I think the stress levels are quite high).

Apart from all this, has anyone else encountered IBS symptoms after having babies??

P.s I apologise for the ramble

I had similar problems after my DC1 and colofac didnt really help. I was subsequently diagnosed with coeliac disease. This can be triggered by pregnancy or stress, so you would fit that! Maybe mention this to GP who can do blood tests to see if this is a possibility?

My SIL had horrific IBS and not handy when her job meant travelling most of her life to Africa and Asia and not to pleasing hotels. She sometimes wouldn't eat for days to avoid an attack and ended up in a real mess health wise.

She resolved it by seeing an Osteopath who specialises n this area. And takes a pro-biotic everyday ( tablet form not a yoghurty sugar drink version).
