7yr old son has a white lump in his penis

took him to dr on monday who told me not to worry but i am. it could be a cyst he reckons but it doesn't seem to shrink or anything. it's under the foreskin so obviously can't see what it is properly. anyone any experience of this?

No experience at all about lumps on them but my ds seems to be plagued with problems with his man bit too atm. Is there another gp you could take hi to see to help reassure you / give a second opinion?

My DP had a lump in his testicles as a teenager. It was a vein wrapped around it and they operated (wholly successfully if a little painfully) to remove it. Could it be similar? I also vote for second opinion. Not that I'm thinking its anything sinister but just that GPs differ so much in their opinions, don't stop til you are satisfied. Good luck.

yes, i could take him back but doc told me that i should give it about 3 weeks. son says it sometimes aches and sometimes it itches aswell so i put a urine sample in ---- not had results back for that yet. these things really scare me though.

results of urine test were normal. did take him to see another doctor who said the lump was also normal.(build up of secretions etc.)still worrying though.anyone else with experience of this?

Yukky word for the secretions that always makes me laugh: smegma. It's normal and will come out as his foreskin retracts. Don't worry about it. Maybe encourage him to fiddle with his foreskin in the bath as that can loosen up the lump and maybe let it break down a bit.

thanks Sari.seem to remember doctor saying much the same things. you say smegma makes you laugh.i had to refer to his penis as his willy as i can't say penis out loud---it makes me giggle ... don't know why!!!

taking him back to doctor on monday. still worrying. it still looks quite hard and seems to extend when his willy is "extended" .. if you know what i mean
