Veruccas - is it worth seeing GP?

I've got veruccas! They are not giving me any trouble but DH wants me to get rid of them.

Freezing kits haven't worked and I forget to use salycilic acid. DH has suggested seeing GP but I've heard that they no longer treat veruccas/warts and leave them to go away (which can take years)

Have you tried Bazuka? I don't know if that is a freezing treatment so sorry if you've tried it.

Maybe speak to your pharmacist and get sone advice? They might say GP or they may recommend a product.

Bazuka do both a freezing and a salycillic acid treatment. Its partly my fault that the latter doesn't work.
I'd be particularly interested to know whether GP would freeze them for me or say to leave them.

Hi. My GP wouldn't do anything so have ended up seeing a podiatrist paid out of my own pocket. I have had 2 caustic treatments and also had 2 freezes. I only had the one very stubborn verruca! Waiting to see if the 2nd freeze has worked but if it hasn't then I am not doing anymore.

I have tried! Plus the last freeze hurt so much (especially as the skin was so thin after the previous 3 treatments) I was having to take pain killers for three days after!

What ever you decide...good luck

My DD had verrucas for years and I tried bakuka but it didn't work. In the end I bought some Boots own brand verruca cream from their pharmacy - you have to ask for it. It's in a small tube and you out a blob on each day and cover it with a plaster. There is no messing about filing or anything. You do this for about 10 days and then the verruca drops out in a blob of skin - lovely. I honestly didn't think it would work on DD's verrucas but it did and they haven't come back.

Years ago I had my verrucas frozen - it took 3 separate treatments and it really hurts. Plus, they came back a couple of months later. So I would try the Boots cream if I were you.
