Does anyone know if this is OK? Have a really bad flare up of eczema, and have a tube of Elocon, but have lost the packaging so don't know if it's alright or not.

I would say that if your eczeam covers an area bigger than your hand I would opt for hydrocortisone. the active ingredient in elocon is harmful to a baby when used in an oralk therapy, but there are no specific studies to say it is ok when applied to the skin.
Phone your gp and get them to leave a suitable prescription...it will be free!

A dermatologist told me its fine to use as it doesn't cross the placenta..I still only used it when really necessary. My eczema was worse when pg with dd and virtually non existant when pg with ds!!

Thanks. Saw doctor today and all he let me have was dipro base as I'm very early pg and he said was highest risk time for potentially interfering with developing foetus. Bummer as I've got a really bad flare up, on hands, all up arms, on legs, back, neck - never had it this bad before. Just want to rub it raw...
