I've been advised to use corsodyl for a week to deal w gum disease. I used it for the first time last night and 12 hours later my tongue is numb and feels burned. Is this normal?!

Yep - that's a fairly normal side effect.

You could try diluting it a bit, or if you really can't stand it, try Oraldene instead.

Corsodyl is really superb if you can persevere - and the burning/numb tongue will stop if you carry on using it.

I've only got to use it for a week so I guess I'll persevere. ..However I'm going out for dinner tomorrow night so don't want to spoil my enjoyment of that!!
