Mumps & MMR

Quick one for HCPs to answer as I can't find on NHS / Google.

There seems to be an outbreak of mumps in DS's nursery. He has had both MMR doses. How likely is he to get it? I know the answer is 'not very' but if anyone has any stats about immunity after two doses that would reassure me.

all I can find is this; Between 5 and 10% of children are not fully immune after the first dose. The booster gives increased protection, with less than 1% of children remaining at risk after having it.

Thanks so much ilovepowerhoop - hopefully he is not in that sub-1% - he seems well so far.

Fingers crossed.

From the NHS website

Protection against mumps after two doses of MMR is a little lower (90-95%) and appears to gradually decline.
