Wart! How do I get rid?

I have a smallish wart on the palm of my left hand and I've been using Occlusal, paint it on, file it, repeat til its gone. Well its still there 4 weeks later:(

Really really want to get rid as I had verrucas on my feet for years and tried everything to get rid and it took me to have a baby for 'my chemistry to change' or so my GP said!

So do I just bite the bullet and get my GP to freeze the wart or is there any other remedies I could try?

duct tape during the night and a plaster during the day. You can also paint it with black nail varnish. Should go in a couple of weeks.

I had a verruca and used duct tape both day and night because I could 'hide' it, went in 2 weeks.

sorry - meant paint with nail varnish and put a plaster over it. Effectively starve it off light and air and the virus can't survive.
