Shoulder and neck pain?

Hi all, currently 18 weeks pregnant and losing sleep over some lovely pain in my shoulder and neck area. I've had it once before I fell pregnant but this has lasted two nights (goes away during the day) and seems nothing helps (lying on it, Lying on other side, holding it forwards backwards etc). I just want some sleep! It seems to be muscle pain but I don't know what I can do about it?

Go and see your GP, they'll quickly be able to tell if it is muscular and then you can get referred for some physio. It's also important to rule out preeclampsia as bizarrely shoulder pain can be an indicator. Much more likely it's muscular though so don't worry but do insist on physio if it is that.

Strange question (not related to your pregnancy) but do you have a tablet/ipad and have you increased your usage recently.
I can't play games or do much more than surfing on mine unless I sit in a particular way if I don't want a very sore neck/shoulder.

If it's hurting and it's muscular ( which I guess it is ) chances are it's inflamed .
Ice ( peas or gel pack ) will help reduce inflamation . Wrap in tea towel or similar .

I know it sounds counterintuative and you may feel warmth eases it ,but if it's inflamed cold will reduce that .

If you can't bear to apply cold ,alternate between cold and warmth and finish with cold .

Flowers must be miserable with pregnancy ,lack of sleep and heat .

Go to GP or privately to oesteopath .
