Hello all.

I have heavy periods always have.

But today I leaked so bad that it was running down my legs. When I got to the bathroom I had a clot around the size of a small plum? Although not as solid (sorry)

Cleaned myself up changed trouser had new towel on 10 mins and another clot came away although not as big. I have had a clear internal ultrasound showed a atom? Dr said that didn't really mean anything.

My question is this dangerous in anyway? What else could the dr do for me? Whilst worrying its also inconvient to leak so bad whilst out.

Tia

I had really heavy periods, flooding and massive clots (sometimes the size of a sanitary towel) and was fitted with the Mirena coil. It really didn't suit me, there were lots of side effects and I found it horrid tbh.

After 6 months I had it removed and had an endometrial ablation. It was the best thing I have ever done. I hardly bleed at all now. You do need to have completed your family though.

Have your heavy periods been investigated at all.
You don't give your age, are you menopausal or is there a chance you were pregnant.
I think large clots dropping out of you suggests a visit to your gp asap for a gynae referral. imo.

Only the scan.
And I am 28 with 4 dc no chance of pregnancy.

Has it been going on for long? I had horrible heavy 10 day periods after dd and went on the pill for a couple of months to sort the hormones out and its been much better ever since.

I did also get a referral to a gyn - for peace of mind.
