We have a three week old little girl, she leeps crying after feeds and is inconsolable, h v said it might be reflux. Any tips on how to stop her crying?

Sorry to hear that, reflux can be very trying.

Keeping her upright for half an hour after feeds can be very helpful. So can raising the cot legs so that she is slightly inclined when she sleeps (assuming she sleeps in a cot).

A baby carrier was a complete lifesaver for me with my refluxy babies. Do you have one?

Two of my children were reflux babies. The first was hospitalised and prescribed gaviscon. She grew out of reflux at around 16mths but I'd given up breastfeeding at 8wks following a comment from dh "your milk is poisoning her" Sad Angry

The second was cured within a day by cutting dairy out of my diet. I've since seen this work for other breastfeeding mothers. He tolerated dairy from around 12mths.Smile

I didn't find health professionals were particularly bothered with treating reflux as long as baby was gaining weight. But both the babies and I were constantly covered in sick and worse was watching the clear looks of pain on their faces. Hth.
