I had an appointment at the asthma clinic today, just routine they wanted me to go because I've just moved to the area. They asked what my best peak flow is its 480. I only managed to blow 370 today. I've got no symptoms of asthma at the moment so seems odd. The nurse has told me to double my dose of my inhaler and check my peak flow at home. She's given me a plan. Is it normal to have a lower peak flow with no symptoms?

Yes! My best ever is 420 but i rarely get over 350 at check ups!

Yes, our son's regime is based around his peak flow - he doesn't get symptoms until his lungs have shrivelled to the size of raisins. Most annoying.

Do as she says and watch what it does, if the pf drops further, go back.
