Very worried about friend.

My lovely friend had her first baby a month ago. She had lumps in one breast while pregnant, put down to mastitis, and when they didn't go away after the birth (baby not really feeding from that breast) she was given more antibiotics and finally sent for an ultrasound yesterday. Three very obvious lumps, they did biopsies on all three. I wasn't worried, assumed they would be cysts, but now I am worried sick. Week until results. Anyone had lumps biopsied like this that were fine? (she said they took out slices, I am assuming punch biopsies). And if it is the worst case scenario, how best can I help if you have beenf in a similar position? She has a lovely sister and parents and they live fairly near, but I want to support her this week of hideous waiting and if the news is bad. Would you stock the freezer for them, that kind of thing? I everything crossed it won't be bad news. Sad

You sound like a lovely friend and all you can do at this stage really is to be there for her, tell her she can ring at any time and ask her if she needs any practical help. The waiting is the worst thing. Dont let her google ! Yes come over to the tamoxifen thread too everyone is lovely thereSmile

The waiting must be terrible I know, it is all a shock as we were expecting that she might have a cyst that needed draining. Am just hoping like mad it is something benign. Could it be blocked up milk? we have a mutual friend who had a double mastectomy five years ago and is really well, no recurrence of the cancer, so that will be a help in the worst case scenario. I am just dithering about the place today, wanting to do something to make it all better. I think I will work on making sure they have supplies for the fridge/freezer and being as available as possible to help if needed.
