I have a lump on my big toe joint, which I assume is a bunion, but it's not affecting the alignment of my toe and it's closer to the top of the joint rather than the side, iyswim - when you look at my foot from above you can't see the lump, and from looking at bunion pictures they all seem to protrude from the side of the foot. It's red, but not particularly painful and seems to have developed quite quickly over 2-3 weeks. I have hypermobile joints - which makes me prone to bunions I think, but I'm only 31 and never wear heels.
