Anyone knowledgeable about MRI scans?

This might sound silly but is it possible have an MRI scan that looks at your lower spine as well as both hips? Or are these traditionally not done together?

I think it is possible but am no expert, just a patient.

I recently had a torso MRI to check for any signs of inflammation, one scan investigated my hips and liver, this was done in one scan so it is possible.
The MRI scans little slices of your body which are built up into an image of the area scanned, so I would imagine any scan of the hip area would include your spine as there would be an image of your whole body, iyswim.

But it is the radiologist and doctors investigating your condition who would have to be told to look at the spine as well, as if they scan is for your hips they may be concentrating on those.

Good luck with your scan Smile

They only want to scan my hips but my physio feels it may be referred pain and the problem actually lies in my spine. I just wondered if it was feasible.

Thank you for the reply!
