Foul bug that's left me feeling "sea sick"

Got wiped out by foul bug this week. Went from feeling fine to temperature of 40 and terrible sweats in matter of hours. GP so worried came out to see me at 9pm and then went and got me large dose of penicillin. Then had district nurse doing blood tests. Seems I've had some acute infection - but while the fever has ended I still feel poleaxed. In particular, if I'm up and about for too long I feel really dizzy and nauseous. Any ideas as to why - it's really quite nasty and is going to ruin half term.

Last Sunday I started with a bug. I was bedridden all day with D&S and terrible cramps. I didn't have a fever or infection though. By day 3 the actual sickness stopped and I could eat again, but even today - day 8 I am still nauseous. Not sure if same thing alogther, but seems there is a bug going round that lingers on.

it takes a few days to recover properly from a fever like that. you need to take it really easy, drink lots of fluids etc. You'll probably be ok in a couple of days - I hope so anyway!

Called Dr's this morning. They had some stupid triage system in place, made worse by the fact that it was being run by the one doctor I have absolutely no confidence in. So I had a bizarre telephone conversation with him where he said I didn't need antibiotics and that it would get better in a few days. Have made an appointment to see my own doctor tomorrow as this is wiping me out. Poor DS, some half term he is having.
