Why am I late?

Apart from the obvious, does anyone have any ideas on my period is nearly 2 weeks late? Two negative pregnancy tests so far (one when 7 days late, one done today, although I will keep testing every few days just to stop myself going insane).

I'm overweight, but have neither lost nor gained any weight over the last few weeks. I'm not anorexic/bulemic. As far as I'm aware my thyroid functions normally (admittedly I haven't had a TFT for over a year, but have no other over/underactive symptoms). No symptoms of PCOS that I can gather. I've always had an approx. 30 day cycle and this has been very regular since DD2 was born (she's 4 next month).

I had a small procedure for abnormal cervical cells around 18 months ago but have had no repercussions from that. In fact I'm due for my next smear this month, but I've been waiting to come on so I can be sure I have the test when I'm on day 10 of the cycle.

It's really playing with my head! If I am pregnant again then it would be a shock (a happy but slightly scary one), but I'm starting to worry it's something else entirely. I'll try to make a GP appointment tomorrow but I have one of those shite surgeries where you all have to make a mad dash for the phone at 8.30am and all the appointments go in the first 5 minutes. Does anyone have any experience of something similar or know of any other reasons for my period to just not bother showing up!

So way too young for any perimenopausal nonsense. Yes, talk to your GP - are the 8.30 panic appointments the only ones they do?

Afraid so. Can't book for the next day even, it's a bloody joke. Most of the time I don't bother to go to the GP when I'm ill as it's just so much hassle to get an appointment, but after the abnormal smear I'm just a little twitchy about any changes in my cycle.

A (steadily growing) part of me just wants to find out I am pregnant. It's not something we planned, but it wouldn't be unwelcome. And it would be a damn sight better than any other health concern.
