Foot pain!

I have severe pain in my feet, heels and soles, the more I use them the better they are but 1st thing they are agony and I can't put any weight on them (challenging at 3am when feeding babba!), have adopted the crawl as my fav mode of transport!

Doc says I am overweight (helpful, I knew that!) & lose the weight is my prescription which is brilliant & really helpful for tomorrow as I still won't be able to put weight on my feet! Make inroads with the weight thing, on exercise boot camp and serious weight watchers diet, lost 1 stone so far, 4 to go! My question is, in the short term any advice how to make walking bearable? Anyone experienced this?

Sounds like you may have plantar fasciitis , which is inflammation of the long tendon running under your foot

I looked into his recently as I was getting painful heels.

The solution seems to be getting insoles that support your arch and heels.

I got some pro foot cones from amazon for £10 - 1st day today, will see how they work.

There are exercises that can help as well, try googling it.

Sounds very painful fr you , so I hope you get something sorted soon!

Looked it up! Looks like it's exactly that! Also, suggests no exercise too, loose weight but no exercise! Wish me luck ;-)

Thank you for your message and advice x

I thought of plantar fasciitis as it sounds v v like the pain my friend had when she had it. As I remember wearing (fugly) Croc clogs really helped hers! I have foot pain not due to this and also find wearing (fugly) Croc clogs helps. I HATE going out the house in the vile looking things but the sponginess and shape really reduces the pain.

Yes, I've seen crocs recommended too. I think the stretching exercises should help as well though..

Hope it feels better soon

Put a small bottle of water in the freezer - then roll your foot over it back and forth for about 10 - 15 mins - first thing in the morning and at night.

Thanks all, have some crocs at the back of my wardrobe (old fad, don't judge me, lol!), will turf them out right now (not wearing them outside though!), ice pack in freezer ready for tonight too - fingers crossed!

Thirded for plantar fasciitis. My DH has it and walks round like an old man first thing in the morning. Being a typical male, he has been diagnosed but refuses to do anything more about it, when there are things-wot-could-be-done!
