Has anyone managed to sort their pelvic floor with exercise?

Mine's so not great. I finally plucked up the nerve to speak to the doctor about it last year but she just directed me to a website with exercises on it.
I freely admit that I'm not great at doing the exercises, I'll do a little every day but not with the frequency and concentration that you're supposed to, I forget and frankly have little faith that they'll actually work.
I'd love to take up running but it is totally out if the question, literally every step I leak a little.
If its relevant, I'm 44 and bit peri menopausal and have two kids but my pelvic floor was far from watertight before I had them, even as a teenager I didn't trampoline without going for a pee first (now I don't trampoline at all!!)

Watching with interest! My doctor did an internal exam last week and said "ooh, you're slack there aren't you?" Cheers mate. Then we had a chat about pelvic floor exercises and he told me to do them all day everyday to tighten things up! Hmm

But is that all day every day for the rest of my life?? I can't keep it up!

Mine have definitely improved since I began Pilates 2 terms ago. It takes a while to get them 'back' - but it is possible.

I originally went to ease my permanent sore back, and have found that my improved pelvic floor is a bonus!
