Urinary incontinence

God it sounds awful Hmm

I'm 34 and for the last couple of weeks I've been getting the need to pee quite suddenly and I'll be literally desperate to go within a couple of minutes.

I'm also going more often.

Today I was at the checkout in the supermarket when I got the urge. I finished putting my stuff on the belt, shoved my purse at my mum and set of for the loo. I didn't make it Shock

So, I'm gonna have to get to the Dr's I think.

Anyone know what it could be, or what I can expect from my appointment?

Thanks

Possibly an infection? Or have you put on any weight recently? Maybe it's extra pressure on your bladder that has built up over a few months etc and you're ony just seeing the symptoms.

I'd go to the GP and get checked :)

I'd speak to the GP urgently. Could be a chronic infection? I have periodic incontinence because I have a neurological illness that affects my ability to know when I need to go - through the day I go hourly (by the clock) and if I wake at night I go straight away! I use a special sheet on the bed as I am periodically incontinent.

Awful thing to face. In waking hours I just take myself off to the loo every 60 mins. I rarely stay over anywhere (and I take my sheet) but if I do my phone does 2-hourly alarms. I don't want to wet the bed at my parents house!! Or worse,at MILs house!!

Luckily I'm on a painkiller nightly that also helps with involuntary urination.

It's a nasty thing to deal with as an adult.

Thanks both - mum mentioned infection actually but I assumed that as I have no stinging it couldn't be an infection. Is it possible to have one without pain? I have put on a bit of weight in the last 3 months or so actually, didn't think that would be a cause.

Weegie - sorry you ave to deal with that, it must be so hard for you. I'm trying not to think of serious causes for this tbh Sad
