Diarrhea and nausea bug

ItCameFromOuterSpace · 05/06/2013 22:50

Has anyone else had this recently? Really struggling, started off with severe nausea on sat, progressed to vomitting, feeling extremely weak and loss of appetitie. By 10pm that night I had diarrhea which 5 days later (so far) has not improved.

Also had a stiff neck which has gone, but the nausea comes and goes and barely eaten anything in 5 days (some fruit and the odd cracker) which isn't great as I am 7 months pregnant.

Please tell me it's going to go soon? Feel awful.

I had, it disappeared rather suddenly about 6 days later.

Tomorrow is day 6...please please le it be gone when I wake up. Am tired of being so unwell, not eating and living my life on the loo!

Well mine went at about 10pm at night on day 6 Sad

I was sat watching TV when I realised I no longer felt nauseous and was actually rather starving Grin

ItCameFromOuterSpace · 05/06/2013 23:44

And the diarherrea? Did that stop on day 6?

I feel so weak Sad

Yes that stopped on day 6 although made a brief re-appearance on the morning of day 7. I think I may have over done it with the celebratory eating when I realised I no longer felt sick Blush

Was up every 30 mins last night with diarherrea, exhausted and now throwing up again. Hate this.

Oh lordy!! Ds2 has just come down with a d&v bug. Hope it's not the same one. I'm 39 wks pg and could do without catching it off him. although it might get baby moving and avoid imminent cs

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 06/06/2013 10:26

6 days! I'm onto day 2 of this one. Was just diarrhoea till I stupidly tried to eat last night (and woke to a party in my belly this morning).

DS seemed to have mean cramps and diarrhoea overnight but was fine the next day.

6 days! Here's hoping I've got a shorter lived one.

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 06/06/2013 10:28

I've got it too. Am nearly five weeks pregnant and panicked in case it was the start of HG but NHS direct say lots of d&v bugs going around and only advice is to keep hydrated. Hoping it passes quickly for us all!

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 06/06/2013 11:41

At least I'm not pregnant as well. I feel for you lot.

I think I'm getting the munchies. A good sign? Or a terrible mistake?!

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 06/06/2013 13:37

Something bland might make you feel better - they recommend banana/rice/apple/toast (BRAT diet) - I have just had a Granny Smith and it went down fairly well! Avoid pure fruit juice and sugary drinks like lucozade, maybe try rehydration drink like dioralyte? Hope you feel better soon!

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 06/06/2013 13:53

Just had some toast. Really fancy some crisps!

tabbycat15 · 06/06/2013 16:08

I would ring health direct for advice as you are pregnant. You may need to go on a drip in hospital or take rehydration drinks.
Hope you feel better soon.

ItCameFromOuterSpace · 06/06/2013 16:24

The doctor suggested rehydration sachets so I've started taking those, and have had a small appetite so managed some cereal and salted nuts (am assuming the salt craving is to replace the salts lost).

Still feel very weak but only had diarrhea three times today (since last nights up every 30 mins marathon)

One thing the doctor said to me which was very reassuring was not to worry about the baby and lack of eating etc, as the baby all get all she needs from fat reserves etc and won't be affected by al the sickness and diarrhea, it's just mum that'll feel lousy.
