book about daddy being in hospital?

my dh will be having heart surgery sometime this year. Dd (4) bit worried about daddy staying in hospital. Does anyone know of any good books about this kind of issue? Have tried doing a catalogue search at the local library with little success.

Have you tried internet searches like google or ask jeeves?

Or (sorry if this is not your thing at all) but you could try and put together a little scrapbook for her, with pictures of the hospital, and doctors and nurses who will look after her daddy, so it may not seem so strange to her? Only a thought..

wont explain what is happening to daddy, but does cover the basic aobut hospital and what to expect.
Some childrens hosptials will ofer play (usually for their patin=ents relatives) but you could phone the play specialists (at the local childrens hosp) and see if there was anything they coudl reccommend.

Nope, but can sympathise. my dh is in hospital and has been in and out since dd1 was about 4.5years old. He had OHS last summer, and is still in hospital now. My dd's seem to be coping well, it just upsetting having little children dealing with it.

I really feel for you misdee - life must be really hard work for you - all the worry as well as having to look after everyone. Hope things right themselves as soon as possible x
